Due to the enforcement of the revised Fair Trade Rules for Automobiles and its enforcement regulations (effective October 1, 2023), the display of used car sales prices has changed to "Total Payment Amount".

①Total Payment Amount = ②Vehicle Price + ③Various Fees

It is the price that includes the "②Vehicle Price" plus the minimum necessary "③Various Fees" required when purchasing the used car.

This is the price for registration (notification) at the transportation bureau under the dealership's jurisdiction and delivery at the store. Additional costs will be incurred for out-of-prefecture registration, delivery to locations other than the store, or when options are added based on customer requests.

It is the cash price including consumption tax when delivering the vehicle at the store, including equipment already installed at the time of display (navigation, audio, custom parts, etc.).

When selling with "periodic inspection and maintenance" and "warranty," which significantly impact the price and quality of used cars, those costs must be included and displayed in the "Vehicle Price".

Insurance premiums, taxes, and fees associated with registration (registration procedure agency fees).

The "Various Fees" included in the "Total Payment Amount" are "①Insurance Premiums," "②Taxes," and "③Fees Associated with Registration (Registration Procedure Agency Fees)".

※The content of the "Total Payment Amount" must be at the same level. Therefore, you cannot display a "Total Payment Amount" that does not include "Various Fees ①, ②, ③".

※If you display a "Total Payment Amount" that does not include "Various Fees," it constitutes "improper price display" (violation of regulations) as customers cannot purchase at the displayed price.

The total payment amount was implemented to resolve issues in used car sales by major dealers and specialized stores.

Approximately 90% of consumers support the "Total Payment Amount" display.
